If you like outdoor path lighting, then you will love up lighting. Up lighting does pretty much exactly what the name says it does. It shines the light in an upwards direction. A homeowners path lighting should accent their homes. The key is to place your up lighting next to some object so that the lighting will accent the object. Many homeowners use up lighting next to objects such as trees, bushes and their homes. It really goes over well when you are driving down a street and you see a house with up lighting on it. It is absolutely beautiful.

Some people have adequate lighting around their homes already and they just need some accent lighting to show things off. 3. Vegetables are great filler foods. Because of their high water content, veggies will fill you up faster and make you feel full longer than protein or carbohydrates. So pile on the green vegetables when you hit the lunch and dinner table.

4. Your mother was wrong. If your mother was like mine and insisted that you always eat everything on your plate, deprogram yourself and start taking half of your food home with you when you eat out.

5. Advance portion control. If you have a hard time deprogramming yourself from your mother’s insistence that you clean your plate, put half of your food in a to-go box before you ever start eating. That way you can eat all of the half that’s left on your plate and not feel like you’re offending your mother!

How to start a webcomic: Basic procedures

1. Sketch your comic on pieces of paper.
2. Scan the completed manga into a computer.
3. Add inking and toning to the manga comic with a graphic editing software.
4. Do some cleaning up with the manga comic.
5. Add speech balloons to your comic, in accordance to the script of the storyline.
6. Readjust the size of your overall manga. Save image, picture, file to a web-compliant picture format (jpg, png or gif).
7. Upload the pictures into the picture gallery of your domain. And of course, rearrange the images within the picture gallery.

The favicon is a tiny image that replaces the typical browser link image with a recognisable icon that signifies your branded website. Although the favicon isn’t a requirement for website design, it makes it easy for visitors to find your link in their bookmarked websites. Imagine viewing a list of bookmarked websites that all have the same link image, but one stands out – your website link – because it contains a customised icon that reminds users of your product. If you’re thinking of a creative way to market a product, a favicon is a simple addition that drives more traffic.

The Image

The favicon has specific dimensions, colours, and file format. The image is tiny, so developing its layout takes a few tests to ensure that it looks visibly distinct in the browser bookmarks. You won’t be able to do high quality images like you do for website pages. The icon format is only 16×16 pixels, so its size limits the amount of detail and quality.

The file type and colour capabilities of a favicon are 256 colours saved as a gif or bmp file. People who developed websites in the 1990s probably recognise the old colour scheme, and favicon limitations are similar to old web graphics. Regardless of the limitations, there is a surprising amount of options when creating the file. For instance, a common use for the favicon image is to use the corporate logo. For instance, if you decide to convince your readers to bookmark a page named “yourdomain.com/myfavorites/index.htm,” then upload the favicon to the “yourdomain.com/myfavorites” directory. The advantage to this requirement is that you can have several icons with product brands dedicated to different directories. It’s also important to know that the file needs to be saved with the name “favicon.ico.” This file name and format tells the web browser that this is used as an icon for bookmark images. Wherever you save the image, take note of its location, because it’s needed for configuration of the web application.

Edit Web Page Code

The next step is editing the HTML code in your web page. Open your home page file. Most home pages are named index.html or index.aspx. Open this page in your favorite HTML editor. There is only one line of code needed, so you can even open the file in Notepad and add the code quickly. To add the new icon link, find the code that is located in the beginning of the file marked with the “” tag. This is normally found under the “” tag or close to it. Within this tag, place the following code into your web page:

/favicon.ico” type=”image/x-icon”>

This is the standard code for inclusion of the favicon file. Replace “” with the domain name and directory of the favicon saved earlier. After you add the code to the web page, save the file to your website.

The ultimate advantage of a favicon is your brand on the customer’s computer with better opportunities for sales. When a customer has a good experience on your website, a favicon reminds them of the experience. It also spreads your brand name as a familiar logo on desktops. The favicon is the basic way to brand your website with little effort.

There’s no reason to fear the prospect of traveling this Thanksgiving season. Whether you’re hopping in the car to drive a few blocks or taking a trans-oceanic voyage to meet your special relatives or friends; the key to successful travel with children is planning.

Planning can be simple or it can be complex, the first thing you’ll want to do is to make sure that all your hotels are kid friendly and within your finances so you’re not having to worry about where your kids are or whether have enough money to stay at the particular hotels that looked so good on the internet.

After you’ve got your lodging lined up you can then concentrate on how you’re going to get there.

If feasible, check out as many ways as you can to get to your destination. There might be fun and exciting ways to get there even if it’s just around the block or a few miles away. Perhaps you could take a taxi?

Or remember the old days when, on Thanksgiving, we all walked to Grandma’s house? Maybe your kids would like to take a long walk? Or even the bus? An adult can take the packages in a car and that will free up you and the kids to go by any means you can think of. Maybe it’s time to see if you really can ride a bike, even if it’s been 10 years since you’ve been on one.

It’s true you can find many bargain flights on the internet but make sure that the kids will be okay with your plans too. A “red eye” flight might be a good buy but will the kids be at there best at grandma’s the next day?

Wouldn’t it feel great to be organized in your own home every day and enjoy home organization as a way of life?  Oh to find what you need right when you need it.  Just imagine walking into a calm room where everything is in its place-no clutter.  Ah, divine.

To help you make that happen, I’m going to share a checklist for your quest for home organization so you can reach your goals. The key here as that you take this list and start taking action. A checklist isn’t for reading, it is for taking action and going through the steps to see the results that you desire.

To get organized you will need to do the following:

1.    Decide where you are going to start.  What area causes you the most stress?  Start there.
2.    Choose a date for your organizing session and write it on the calendar.  Now you have a commitment!
3.    If you are going to enlist the help of friends or family, call them now so they can put it on their calendar.  Now they are committed too!
4.     Purchase garbage bags or collect boxes to place unwanted items in.
5.    Create labels to place on the bags or boxes to make it easy to know what goes in them.  Examples would be-garbage, donate, recycle, shred, etc.
6.    On organizing day, be really honest about what you really need, love and use.  Let the rest go.  It’s ok, really!
7.    Place the items you are going to keep on display or in organizing bins or baskets.
8.    Enjoy your calm, organized space!
